ไทรโลไบต์ (Trilobite) เป็นสัตว์ทะเลที่มีรยางค์เป็นข้อปล้องในไฟลัมอาร์โธรโพดา ในชั้น “ไทรโลไบตา” เริ่มปรากฏครั้งแรกในยุคแคมเบรียนตอนต้นและชุกชุมในมหายุคพาลีโอโซอิกตอนต้นก่อนที่จะเริ่มต้นลดจำนวนลงและสูญพันธุ์ไปในที่สุด โดยระหว่างช่วงเหตุการณ์การสูญพันธุ์ครั้งใหญ่ในช่วงยุคดีโวเนียนตอนปลายไทรโลไบต์ทุกอันดับได้สูญพันธุ์ไปยกเว้นแต่เพียงอันดับพรีเอตทิดา และไทรโลไบต์ก็ได้สูญสิ้นเผ่าพันธุ์ไปทั้งหมดเมื่อสิ้นยุคเพอร์เมียนประมาณ 250 ล้านปีมาแล้ว
ไทรโลไบต์ มีลำตัวยาวได้ตั้งแต่ 1 มม. ไปจนยาวได้ถึง 72 ซม. แต่ขนาดทั่วๆไปจะอยู่ระหว่าง 3 ถึง 10 ซม. ถูกจัดให้อยู่ในไฟลัมอาร์โธรโพดา ไฟลัมย่อยชีสโซราเมีย อยู่ในเหนือชั้นอะราชโนมอร์ฟา(เทียบเคียงได้กับ อะราชนาต้า) แต่ก็พบว่ามีผู้จัดจำแนกที่แตกต่างไปจากนี้

Trilobites form one of the earliest known groups of arthropods. The first appearance of trilobites in the fossil record defines the base of theAtdabanian stage of the Early Cambrian period (521 million years ago), and they flourished throughout the lower Paleozoic era before beginning a drawn-out decline to extinction when, during the Devonian, almost all trilobite orders, with the sole exception of Proetida, died out. Trilobites finally disappeared in the mass extinction at the end of the Permian about 250 million years ago. The trilobites were among the most successful of all early animals, roaming the oceans for over 270 million years.
Trilobites range in length from 1 millimetre (0.04 in) to 72 centimetres (28 in), with a typical size range of 3–10 cm (1.2–3.9 in).
